At ARMA Museum & Gallery, this project reimagines how we experience art — where technology becomes invisible, and what remains is wonder. Through a thoughtful blend of digital craft, narrative design, and immersive interaction, the gallery transforms into a living space where artworks move, voices return, and stories unfold.
We create a bridge between creator and audience — where visitors don’t simply observe, but become an integral part of the narrative. To sense the Taksu — the living spirit within the art, and let it reach across time and space.
Encounter lifelike avatars of the masters of the past. Hear their voices, share their stories, and connect beyond time.
See artworks come alive through Augmented Reality to reveal hidden layers and inspirations behind them.
Interact, create, and spend memorable time with the artists’ persona — immersive activities that stay with you long after.
Imagine if an artist’s presence could linger—long after their time. The concept of a digital persona goes beyond a likeness. It’s about reanimating presence—giving a voice, memory, and personality to the people behind their arts.
It all starts from traces left behind: from letters, biographies, interviews, artwork, and personal accounts of people who know them. We study how an artist thought and spoke, their motivation and aspiration, their beliefs and way of viewing life, what they love and what they fear — the way they moved through the world.
With today’s AI tools, we shape these fragments to rebuild a sense of who someone was as a cohesive and dynamic personality that is responsive, respectful, and emotionally aware
Walter Spies as our pilot project will serve as both a tribute and a proof of concept: showing how digital presence can bring us closer to those we thought we’d never meet.
Walter Spies was more than an artist—he was a storyteller, a composer, a bridge between cultures. At the ARMA Museum—home to the most important collection of his works—we reimagine how his presence can still be felt. This project brings his voice, character, and reflections back into the world—not just as memory, but as living experience.
Only a few photographs of Walter remain. We restored them carefully, paying attention to posture, gaze, and expression—not just to resemble him, but to evoke him. The result isn’t a perfect replica. It’s something closer to memory—something familiar and present.
How do you recreate a voice no one alive remembers clearly? You listen to how others described him: soft-spoken, lyrical, sincere. Using advanced voice synthesis and character prompting, we shaped a tone that feels honest to the man: calm, curious, and always reflective, like someone truly listening before speaking.
Behind his responses is a curated knowledge base of personal history, artistic philosophy—blended with broader world context, so he can truly understand, relate, and communicate meaningfully, even with those far beyond his time.
As you move from piece to piece, Walter feels like a quiet companion: offering context, sharing stories, and pointing out details you might’ve missed. His responses are guided, but never mechanical—designed to feel natural, informative, and reflective of his character.
Whether you’re curious about a painting’s meaning or the moment it was created, he speaks with the calm insight of someone who lived it. All from the screen in your hand, like the artist is walking beside you.

An artist is never apart from their work. Every brushstroke, every note, every photograph carries not just what they saw — but how they lived, thought, and felt. Walter’s art was inseparable from his spirit, his friendships, his letters, his silence.
This feature opens a window into that intertwining: the artist and the art reflecting one another. Through carefully researched, artist-guided reenactments — drawn from his paintings, photographs, and words — you are invited to step closer, to sense the way a fleeting moment moved him and how it became something timeless.
It is not only about seeing what he painted. It is about feeling who he was — and, in that moment, allowing a quiet connection between you and Walter. A reminder that behind every work of art is not just a vision, but a life, reaching across time to meet you.
“I tried to show what Bali revealed to me: that the land and the people are not separate, but bound together. Their life flows with the rhythm of the earth itself.”
— The Landscape and Her Children
“The boys stood so close, yet each was locked in his own rivalry. I wanted to capture that quiet tension before the feathers flew.”
— Four Young Balinese with Fighting Cocks
“It wasn’t only the carousel I saw, but the people on it — every face carrying its own story, even as they spun in the same circle.”
— The Merry Go-Round
“When I painted my vision of Scherzo, it became clear to me that canvas and score are not opposites. Music is line and rhythm; painting is rhythm and line. They are mirrors of the same impulse.”
— Scherzo for Brass Instruments
Augmented reality (AR) adds digital elements—such as sound, movement, or animation—to enhance what you see in the real world through your phone or tablet.
In the gallery, artworks come to life as It reveals their hidden layer, offering a moment that feels less like explanation, and more like discovery. It’s a portal to the artist’s mind, and maybe see through their eyes, just for a little while.
With technology seamlessly integrated, mementos evolve into special collections of living stories that engage the senses and transport the museum experience into visitors’ everyday lives.
Photo book that goes beyond mere display to stir emotions and preserve memories. It breathes life into historical images, artworks, and stories through sound, animation, or reimagined scenes—turning each pages into a mesmerizing journey.
Inspirational cards with insightful reflections. Scan each card to unlock Walter’s tales and musings from distance moments and places. Immerse yourself in these echoes as you go through the game of your life, embracing its magnificence in the now.
Art doesn’t just hang on walls here—it invites you to join in. Some experiences unfold in the lab, an immersive space for hands-on creativity. Others are woven throughout the museum, creating seamless, unexpected moments of interaction.
As the museum transforms into a space of quiet magical realism, where ideas become visible through the blend of technology and imagination, it becomes something more: a living space with a soul, brimming with creative energy.
Visitors are no longer passive observers but co-creators in a story still being written.
